Wadeness Joseph Fontenot was born on May 22, 1946 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Edwin B. and Lela Fontenot.  He was a selfless person who always did for others.  Wade was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He took great pride in his yard and loved cutting the grass and working in his garden. Wade was a hard worker and enjoyed helping the farmers with anything they needed to ensure a bountiful crop.  In 1968, Wade married the love of his life, Judy B. Fontenot, and together they raised four daughters in a home filled with love and trust in God.  Wade had a deep Catholic faith and along with Judy instilled the importance of their faith to their daughters. Wade’s family was the most important thing to him and he taught them by example to be giving and loving individuals.  He deeply loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them was one of his greatest blessings. Wade will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all that loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy B. Fontenot; four daughters, Veronica Fontenot McFarlain of Belaire Cove, Vanessa Vidrine and husband, Paul of Ville Platte, Julia Vincent of Scott and Regina Fontenot Miller and husband, Christian of Ville Platte; and seven grandchildren, Abbie McFarlain, Haley Vidrine Morris, Joseph Vidrine, Traylen Vincent, Leah Vincent, Nathanael Miller and Brianna Miller.  Also left behind to cherish his memory are his seven great grandchildren, Arsen, Braxton, and Kambree Quiggle, Noah Nicks, Kolten Gremillion, Zayden Vidrine and Sienna Morris; sister, Goldie Mae Fontenot of Ville Platte; two brothers, Joseph Kenneth Fontenot and wife, Helen of Alexandria and Barney Charles Fontenot and wife, Bernice of Baton Rouge; and two step-sisters, Ruby Holmes and Runnie Matte both of Belaire Cove.
