VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Saturday, July 17, 2021, for Philip Erwin Hollier, Jr., 83, who passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Father Mitch Guidry, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will conduct funeral service and be celebrant of the Mass.

Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Philip Erwin Hollier, Jr. was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on December 18, 1937, to Philip Hollier, Sr., and Odile Dore Hollier.  Philip was a 1960 graduate of SLI with a degree in agricultural engineering. After college, Philip served in the Louisiana National Guard. Most of all, his life revolved around his family, teaching them life skills, and always ensuring their happiness. He and his wife, Bonnie were lifelong parishioners at Our Lady Queen of All Saints. He was president of Hollier Implement Co. and a member and past president of the Deep South Dealer Association. He was a very respected businessman.  His business practice was one of honesty and integrity and he instilled these traits in his children and grandchildren.  He was a devoted, husband, father, and grandfather. Philip was an avid marksman who enjoyed the sport of shooting.  He enjoyed travel, painting, and carving duck decoys and was always working on different projects.  Fishing was a true passion that he enjoyed and shared with his whole family.  He never met a stranger and the lives that he touched stretch far and wide.  His family and friends will miss him greatly and will always hold onto their precious memories.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of 56 years, Bonnie Fontenot Hollier; sons, Mark Hollier and wife, Elizabeth, Gregory Hollier and wife, Leah, and Todd Hollier and wife, Chantel; daughters Kim Hollier and companion, Bill Vermillion and Renee Hollier and fiancé, Bruce Cervini; grandchildren Brandie, Adrian and wife, Emily, Rebecca and companion, Terrance, Averey and husband, Chris Ange, Emma, Samuel, Malina, and Owen; great grandchildren, Thomas, Isabelle, and Sebastian; brothers, Richard Hollier and Joseph F. Hollier; and sisters, Helen Powell, Rita Fontenot, and Margaret Hollier.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip Hollier, Sr., and Odile Dore Hollier; brother, Donald Hollier; and sister, Patricia Deshotels.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM.  A rosary will be led by Deacon Ben Soileau on Friday evening at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
