Charlene Soileau

GRAND PRAIRIE – Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, for Charlene Claire Soileau, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Father Tom Voorhies, pastor at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.

Burial will take place at Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Grand Prairie Charlene Claire Soileau was born on June 5, 1939, to Regile and Joycie Sabastian Doucet.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Charlene enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her beautiful day lilies.  Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Francis H. Soileau; sons, Ricky Soileau and Jody Soileau; grandchildren, Chad Soileau and wife, Chelsie, Corey Soileau and wife, Amanda, Jordan Soileau, and Tristan Soileau; great-grandchildren, Carleigh Soileau, Ainsley Soileau, Jaidyn Soileau, Jace Soileau, and Briar Soileau; sisters, Myrtle Deranger and Janice Daigle and husband, Clayton; and brother, Alden Doucet and wife, Marie.

Charlene is preceded in her parents, Regile and Joycie Sabastian Doucet; daughter in law, Michelle Denise Soileau; and great-granddaughter, Sydney Soileau.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited at 12:15 PM.
