Terrel Soileau

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Saturday, August 28, 2021, for Terrel Gene Soileau, 83, who passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 9:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be recited on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Father Andrew Killeen will conduct funeral service and be celebrant of the Mass.

Entombment will take place at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Terrel Gene Soileau was born on March 17, 1938, in Vidrine, LA to Otis and Eula Ardoin Soileau.   He worked for many years and retired from the Calcasieu Papermill in Elizabeth, LA.  In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Gene enjoyed visiting and cooking with friends and neighbors.  He was a great provider for his family and loved them immensely.  Gene was a family man and his greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially the love of his life, Elaine.  His family and friends will miss him dearly, but rejoice in knowing he is celebrated in heaven.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Fontenot Soileau, whom he loved and adored for 65 years, sons, Cedric Soileau and wife, Rouchelle of Ville Platte and John Dexter Soileau and wife, Rebecca of Marksville; daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” Beauregard of Opelousas; sister, Valire Dale Soileau of Mamou; grandchildren, Travis Soileau, Erica Soileau, Isaac Cade Soileau and wife, Kayla, Bridget Claire Soileau, Alex Casey Mahfouz and husband, Nick, and Edward Beauregard and fiancé, Madison; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Arreola, Camille Soileau, Graham Soileau, and John David Mahfouz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Eula Ardoin Soileau; brothers, Darwin Soileau and Farrel Soileau; sister, Connie Marie Soileau; and son in law, Eddie Beauregard;.
