VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, April 12, 2021 for John T. Bergeron, 61, who passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.
Father Mitch Guidry will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Interment will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
John Bergeron was born on November 14, 1959 to Arceau Bergeron and Velma Mae Bertrand Bergeron in Ville Platte. John worked for 41 years for Union Pacific Railroad as a machine operator. John enjoyed wood carving especially those with wildlife. He leaves behind many carved heirlooms for his family to treasure for generations to come. John was a great provider for his family; he worked hard to ensure their success and provided everything they needed. He loved his family and always held a special place in his heart for his beloved grandchildren. John loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his property in Duralde which he called “his little paradise”.
John leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 35 years, Annie Granger Bergeron, of Vidrine; daughter, Hollie B. Fontenot and wife, Monica Kate Fontenot of Ville Platte; son, Thaddius Brock Bergeron of Vidrine; four grandchildren, Thad David, Parker Shane, Avery Elise, and Isa’Bella Rose; three brothers, Larry Bergeron, Regis Bergeron and wife, Diane, and Joel Bergeron and wife, Annette Bergeron.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Arceau Bergeron and Velma Mae Bergeron; brothers, Robert Bergeron Sr. and Anthony Bergeron; sister, Janice Fairchild; and sister-in-law, Diana Bergeron .
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 beginning at 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Monday.
