VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Saturday, October 24, 2020 for Cornelia Ann Fontenot, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Ville Platte, LA.

Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.

Entombment will take place in Gates of Heaven Mausoleum.

Cornelia Ann Fontenot was born on November 2, 1941 in Ville Platte, LA to Eraste and Aliza Foret Fontenot.  She was an LPN who worked for many years in hospitals and nursing homes around the area.  She enjoyed reading suspense novels and crocheting. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  Cornelia will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Watters Doucet and husband, Richard of Luling; three grandchildren, Andrew Doucet of Luling, Benjamin Doucet of Luling, and Caitlin Nicholas and husband, Glenn of Walker; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Doucet, Isabelle Nicholas, and Olivia Nicholas; and brother Joseph Fontenot and wife, Peggy of Clayton, GA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eraste Fontenot and Aliza Foret Fontenot; and brother, Russell Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
