ST LANDRY - A Graveside Service will be held for Carolyn Lorenz Castete at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Theresa Church Cemetery in St. Landry. Father Kenneth Mayne will conduct services.

Carolyn Lorenz Castete, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 17, 1953, in New Orleans to Charles and Helen Odegar Lorenz. “Nonnie” as her family and friends called her was gentle and kindhearted.  She enjoyed the simple things in life and loved spending time with her family.  Carolyn never met a stranger, and she was a friend to all.  Most of all, she adored and spoiled her three beautiful grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Albert F. “Butch” Castete; son, Christopher Castete and fiance’, Kimberly Benoit of Scott, LA; three grandchildren, Hailee Castete, Jordan Forbes, and Skylar Prejean; brother, Gary Lorenz, of DeQunicy; nephews, James Welsh, Cody Johns, and Jason Johns; nieces, Kelly Castete, Katie Castete Raines, and Pam Straub; godchild, Amy Wheeler Lejeune, and niece, Paula Castete Morse.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Odegar Lorenz; best friend, Debbie Dubrock Trahan; and niece, Annie Welsh.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, May 30, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Ben Soileau at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
