Bussie Hill

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte for Bussie “BJ" Hill, 87, who passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, in Lafayette, where he currently resided.

Father Andrew Killeen will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.

Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bussie “BJ” Hill was born on September 9, 1934, in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Kirby and Agnes Hill and was a long-time resident of Ville Platte. BJ worked for the state of Louisiana for over thirty years as an investigator. Having been raised in South Louisiana, BJ was a true outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. BJ also enjoyed sports, especially football. He enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed his weekly Wednesday night supper with friends where they cooked delicious Cajun food and played a friendly game of cards. BJ’s greatest joy was that of spending time with his family. This great man will be missed by many, and his memory will live forever in their hearts.

BJ is survived by his son Perry Luke Hill and wife, Melissa of Richmond, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsey Rammrath and husband, Brandon of Fulshear, Texas and Brendan Hill and wife, Ashley of Kenner, Louisiana; and great grandchildren Grayson and Kinsley Rammrath.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arthurine Hill; parents, Kirby and Agnes Hill; and sister, Marth Hill Johnson.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed from 9:30 AM until service at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
