Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Winifred Veillon, 89 announces her passing on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Tri Community Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum in Ville Platte with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.

Winifred will be remembered as a long time owner of J.B. Veillons Grocery Store. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Winifred will be lovingly remembered by her one son, Joseph Brodney Veillon, Jr. of Alexandria; four daughters, Helen Marie Veillon of Deland, Fl., Winifred Pitchy Tuminaro of Ville Platte, Madeline Sue Nassif of Palmetto, and Elizabeth Fontenot of Grand Prairie; twenty two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Veillon; parents, Normand Vidrine, Sr. and Gertrude Lafleur Vidrine; a daughter, Norma Dean Dowell; and a brother, Normand Vidrine, Jr.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Friday, March 27, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening.
