Bayou Chicot Funeral services for Wilda Mary Helmer, 76, will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Ross Ford will officiate the services.

Mrs. Helmer, a resident of Bayou Chicot and a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 8:45 a.m. in Park Manor Nursing Home in Houston, TX.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by two daughters, Fonda Robertson of Gulf Breeze, FL and Connie Pitre of Spring, TX; four step daughters, Candy Griffith, Donna Fontenot, Muriel Bit Self, and Johnnie Allen all of Bayou Chicot; two step sons, Bennie Helmer and Bobby Helmer both of Bayou Chicot; two sisters; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Nat Fontenot and Laurant Helmer; a son, Charles Fontenot, and her parents, Ed and Clammie Ortego.

Family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, March 28, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
