Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Versie Thompson, 82 announces her passing on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Sensat Celebrant.

A loving mother, sister, and aunt, Versie will be remembered by her son, Darwin Thompson of Ville Platte; one brother, Jesse Fontenot of Ville Platte and sixteen nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Florence Lee Thompson; a daughter, Barbara Jean Thompson; a four brothers.

Family request that visiting hours be observed Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
