Thomas Joseph Maggio, Sr.

Thomas Joseph Maggio, Sr., 85, of Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on June 22, 1939, Thomas lived a life rich in love and simplicity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Fontenot Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies presiding over services.

Thomas was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army, exemplifying dedication and honor throughout his life. He greatly valued the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding immense joy in their laughter and accomplishments. He relished the small pleasures of life, including his routine visits to McDonald's, where he would enjoy a cup of coffee and engage in friendly conversations with his companions.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Joe Maggio and wife, Pam; daughter, Anna Rose and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Kimberly Lacour and husband, Shane, Lauren Rose, Brian Maggio, Wendy Leger and husband, Landon, Matthew Maggio and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aiden and Ashton Lacour and one great-grandchild on the way.

Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ella Rae Maggio, and his parents, Pietro Maggio and Josephine V. Maggio.

A visitation in honor of his life will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11:30 AM with a rosary recited by Father Voorhies at 1:00 PM.
