Theresa Ann Morein, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, the town where she was born on Sunday, July 22, 1951. She leaves behind a 72 year old legacy of strength, creativity, and devotion to her family. A visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 9:00 am with a Rosary being receited at 2:00 pm with Funeral Services to follow. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Deacon Ben Soileau officiating services.
In her professional life, Theresa excelled as a finance manager, showcasing her sharp intellect and keen eye for detail. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated individual who always strived for excellence in her work.
Beyond her professional achievements, Theresa will be fondly remembered for the vibrant and loving presence she brought to her family. She was a pillar of strength - strong-willed and unwavering in her convictions.
Theresa had a passion for creativity that shone through in everything she did. From sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren to painting and redecorating her home, she had a talent for making things beautiful. Her grandchildren will always cherish the memories of their "coffee dates" with her, where she showered them with love, attention, and coffee-milk.
As a softball coach, Theresa invested time and energy into mentoring youth of her community. She made it a point to attend all of her grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines with unwavering pride.
Those close to Theresa knew of her meticulous nature - she took great pride in maintaining a clean home and went above and beyond with tasks even to the point of injury on a couple of occasions. This commitment to perfection extended to all aspects of her life.
Theresa's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her best including her two daughters, Jada Ortego (Chris) and Ashley Veillon (Kevin); nine grandchildren, Sydney LaHaye (John Christian), Jasmine Mizzell, Brianna, Ava, and Kali Shiver, Tyler and Nicholas Brown, Taylor Veillon, and Torian Veillon Manuel (Cory). Also left behind to cherish her memory are her great grandchildren, Briggs Veillon, August Manuel, Elowyn Mizzell, and baby LaHaye on the way; brother, Bradley Barzare; and dear niece and caretaker, Ramsey Barzare.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Elridge and Enna Roy Deshotel Barzare and sister, Paulette Reed.
