Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tabatha Dawn Ortego on June 29, 2026, in Ville Platte at the age of 44. She was born on October 10, 1981, in Pineville, Louisiana, where she began a life marked by warmth, energy, and generosity.

Those who knew Tabatha will fondly remember her as the vibrant heart of any gathering; her loud laughter, outgoing spirit, humor, and kindness were unmistakable among friends and family alike. Tabatha's giving nature and readiness to lift the spirits of others truly made her the life of the party, and she touched countless lives with her vivacity and compassion.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family, a legacy she cherished above all else. Tabatha is survived by her father, Philip Ortego; her children, Spencer Cole Launey (Liberty), Lauren Taylor Launey, and Victoria Suzanne Fournerat (Spencer); and her cherished grandchildren: Makayla Brooke Launey, Jaxon Launey, Kyson Cole Launey, Abram Fournerat, Ezra Fournerat, and unborn baby Zoey Rose Launey. She is also survived by her brother, Jordan Gaspard (Britni); her sister, Summer Gaspard; her nephews, Owen and Ethan Gaspard; her aunts, Cindy Foxworth, Alice Guillory, and Monique Crochet; and her uncles, Nick, Bobby, and Tony Pommier. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.

Tabatha was preceded in death by her mother, Suzanne Marie Pommier; her grandmother, Rose Pommier; and her grandfather, Roland Pommier, whose memories remained precious to her throughout her life.

Always happiest outdoors, Tabatha found joy in fishing, tending to her plants, and taking pride in her lawn care. These peaceful moments allowed her vivacious spirit to find tranquility.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie, where she enriched her strong sense of community and faith.

Tabatha leaves behind a legacy of love, energy, and boundless generosity. She will be deeply missed, yet warmly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her. Her enduring influence, her laughter, and her nurturing devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she has touched.

Service arrangements will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
