Ville Platte The family of Shirley Ann Wedlock Dupre, 72, is deeply saddened to announce her passing from this world to join her Savior in the next. Shirley passed away peacefully, her beloved family at her side, at Mercy Regional Medical Center of Ville Platte on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Her life will be celebrated during a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Monday, September 15, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant.
Shirley was a homemaker who devoted her life to the happiness and well being of her family spending time with them and dear friends was her greatest joy. She will be mourned by her two precious children: Paul Kent Dupre and Connie D. Blanchard and her husband, Rodney of Ville Platte. Shirley was blessed with two grandchildren and was further blessed with three great grandchildren they were the absolute light of her life. Her memory will be carried forward by her loving siblings: Willie Wedlock and his wife, Sandy of Prairie Rhonde, Evans Wedlock, Jr. and his wife, Flo of Eunice, Sam Wedlock of Nashville, Mary Alice Fontenot of Butte La Rose, Valle Dupre and her husband, Wayne of Ville Platte, Rose Duren and her husband, Ray of Eunice and Priscilla Fontenot and her husband, James of Ville Platte. Shirleys gracious spirit and quick smile will be fondly recalled by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She will now reunite in Heaven with the love of her life, her devoted husband, Lenis Joseph Dupre, her loving parents, Evans and Leonise L. Wedlock, Sr. and two brothers, Hubert Wedlock and Leas Wedlock. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Dupre family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM, will continue until 10:00 PM that evening, will resume at 8:00 AM Monday morning and go on until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her name at 6:00 PM Sunday evening followed by a devotional message by Pastor Kevin West of First Baptist Church at 6:30 PM.
