VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ruby T. Johnson announces her passing on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A Catholic service will be held in her honor on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Johnson Cemetery in Bayou Chicot with Father Greg Downs as celebrant.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Mrs. Robert (Jackie) Jones and Donna Sue Fontenot and husband Jasper all of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 5 grandchildren: Prentice "Buddy" Downs, Cynthia Downs Cober and husband Steve, Fr. Greg Downs, Jaime Jasper Fontenot and wife Elizabeth, and Jody Paul Fontenot and wife Nicole and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She now joins in Heaven her beloved husband Eluid Johnson, parents Willis and Odette Thibodeaux, daughter Claudia Johnson Downs, and an infant son.
At the request of the Johnson family, visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2014 from 10:00 AM until time of service at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. A rosary will be recited Monday at 1:00 PM.
