Rose M. Fontenot

Rose M. Fontenot, a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the age of 72., Funeral services will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the M.B. Fontenot Cemetery with Fr. Stephen Pellessier officiating services.

Rose was born on Tuesday, July 14, 1953, in Ville Platte, Louisiana and was always a hard worker which was evident in her role as supervisor of Halloway Sportswear. When not working or taking care of her family, Rose enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino with friends. Throughout her life, Rose was known for her loving personality and her unwavering dedication to her family. She took great joy in ensuring that her loved ones had everything they needed, often putting their needs before her own. Her nurturing spirit and warm heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Vickie Marie Fontenot Alleman (Charles) and Susan Marie Fontenot (Mitch). She also leaves behind her brother, Clifford Fontenot (Linda); her sister, Patsy Fontenot (Burke Fontenot); and her grandchildren, including Aaron Johnston, Victoria Aymond (Danny) and Brandon Alleman. Rose was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Lyons Ray Fontenot; her parents, Voorice and Regina Deville Fontenot; and her brother Claney Fontenot.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a rosary, led by Fr. Randy Moreau, being recited at 12:00.
