VILLE PLATTE It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Ronald James Richard, 61, announces his passing on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center of Alexandria. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the M B Fontenot Cemetery. Father Richard Broussard will officiate the services.
A loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Ronald leaves behind his beloved sons: Ryan and his wife, Heidi and Chad and his wife, Emmie and his step son: Brooks and his wife, Amber. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Trent, Sean, Jessica, Chloe, Halie and Bryson they were truly the light of his life. His loss will be deeply felt by his loving parents: Floyd and Beulah Pitre Richard of Lafayette and his sisters: Lynn R. Futch and her husband, Gil of Sunset, Gwendolyn VenableLeBlanc and husband Bill of Lafayette and Angela Richard DAquin and husband Steve also of Lafayette. His memory will be treasured and carried on by his niece, Erica and his nephews, Tommy, Jason, Justin, Josh and Gerrit. His devoted family will forever mourn his passing. Ronald proudly served his country as a Marine and it was his honor and privilege to do so.
At the request of the Richard family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM Friday, December 20, 2013 and will continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in his name at 1:30 PM Friday afternoon.
