ST. LANDRY It is with great sadness that the family of Roland Lynn Walker, Sr., 80, announces his passing on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his residence. A Celebration of Rolands life will be held at St. Theresas Catholic Church of St. Landry at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 with burial to follow in St. Theresas Cemetery with Father Richard Broussard officiating.
A devoted father and grandfather, Rolands memory will remain forever in the hearts of his two sons: Roland Walker, Jr. of Alvarado, Texas and Mark Walker and his wife, Melanie of Sulphur. He also leaves behind his adoring granddaughter, Erin Mills and his great grandson, Shawn Brady.
Mr. Walker served his beloved country with great honor and pride during the Korean Conflict while in the service of the United States Army.
He will now join in Heaven his wife, Jane Thibodeaux Walker and his parents, William and Mary Walker they most certainly await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Walker family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2012 and continuing until 9:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 until the time of the services.
