VILLE PLATTE The family of Rodney P. Jagneaux, Sr., 68, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Rodney departed from his worldly home on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital of Sunset. A Funeral of Christian Burial will take place at 1:30 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte with burial to immediately follow in the Platin Cemetery. The Reverend Kevin West will officiate the services.
Rodney leaves behind his precious children: William Jagneaux and his fianc, Denise of Bayou Chicot, Rodney Jagneaux, Jr. and his wife, April of Ville Platte, Rosy Hebert and her husband, Walter of Pine Prairie and Debra Jagneaux of Morgan City. His children blessed him with twenty grandchildren and he was further blessed with ten great grandchildren. Also left behind to mourn are his siblings, Buren Jagneaux of Reddell, Geraldine Jerry Lafleur of Morgan City and Norma Jean Fontenot of Ville Platte.
Rodney will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends from years gone by.
He will now reunite in Heaven with two of his beloved daughters, Shona Jagneaux and Melissa Jagneaux, two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Jagneaux and Sasha Kaye Stratton, a grandson, Cody Jagneaux and his parents, John and Lour Vassure Jagneaux. Their reunion will be a truly joyous occasion.
At the request of the Jagneaux family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 31, 2014 and will continue until 10:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Sunday, June 1, 2014 and continue until the time of the services.
