Robert "Bobby" Jones, Jr.

VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert L. “Bobby” Jones, Jr. will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.

Bobby, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, following a long illness. He was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School and McNeese State University.  He retired with Shell Oil Company after many years of working in the oil field.  He was a private person who loved hunting and fishing with his brothers.  Bobby loved watching LSU and Saints Football games, and his favorite pastime was watching movies in his home.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Hayley Ambler and husband, Robert Ambler, Jr.; granddaughters, Anne Elizabeth Ambler and Adelaide Louise Ambler of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Greg Jones and wife, Sharon of Ville Platte, Kim Jones of Ville Platte; and sister, Debora Bordelon of Ville Platte.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Jones, Sr.; mother, Emma Joy Jones; grandparents, Leo and Bertha Jones and Otis and Hazel Soileau.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, July 18, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM.

Serving as pallbearers; Greg Jones, Kim Jones, Tim Vidrine, James Ortego, Benjamin Fontenot, and Bryant Enicke.
