VILLE PLATTE ~ It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Robert Lee Jones, Sr., announces his passing on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in Jefferson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Brian Herrington, as Celebrant.
Mr. Jones was a Veteran of the Korean War having proudly served in the United States Navy, an avid hunter and sportsman, and a valued mechanic at Cabot Corporation for 30 years.
A loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Robert leaves behind his beloved wife Jackie Johnson Jones; three sons: Bob Jones of Ville Platte, Gregory Jones of Ville Platte, and Kim Jones of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Debra Jones of Ville Platte; one brother, Rodney "Buddy" Jones of Lake Charles; and one sister, Eva Jones Ortego of Ville Platte. Precious memories will be fondly recounted by his eight grandchildren and his fifteen great grandchildren.
Robert will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Leo and Bertha Soileau Jones, brother, Aubrey Jones, and sister, Odile Broussard. They will be awaiting his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
Robert's family has requested a visitation to begin on Friday, February 13, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Home will reopen Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 8:00 AM until time of services.
