VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Richard Edward Grim, 71, announces his passing on Monday, December 29, 2014 at his residence. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will take place in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery with Father Brian Harrington, celebrant.
Richard was a proud veteran having served his country in the United States Army. He will be remembered fondly by his son Richard Brian Grim and wife Crystal of Lecompte, daughter Jessica Brown and husband Ryan of Ville Platte, soninlaw Donnie Morales of Ville Platte, brother Donnie Grim of Washington State, and sister Sandy Mercieca of Florida. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his six grandchildren: Jeremy Morales, Joshua Morales, Maggie Morales, Raegan Grim, Sawyer Grim, and Jordan Brown and one great grandchild Ava Fontenot.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife Gloria Ann Fontenot Grim and his daughter Cristina G. Morales.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and again on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in his honor Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM.
