Rev. Milton Ray Fontenot

Rev. Milton Ray Fontenot, a dedicated servant of God and beloved family member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Golden Age Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Denham Springs, Louisiana at the age of 85. He was born on Sunday, December 31, 1939, in Oakdale, Louisiana and his life was characterized by his deep commitment to his faith. A celebration of his legacy of love, faith and ministry will be held in the sanctuary of the First United Pentecostal Church in Turkey Creek on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Visitation will be at 12:00pm until funeral service at 1:00pm. Following the service, he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Disie, in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Milton graduated from Marion High School in Lake Charles, where he excelled not only academically but also musically. He was offered two scholarships to pursue his vocal talents but made the poignant decision to focus on his ministry instead.

Milton was an ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church and devoted much of his early life to pastoring churches across the south including Moro, Arkansas; Crystal Springs, Mississippi; Kentwood, Louisiana; and High Point, North Carolina, among others.

In addition to his pastoral work, Milton worked as a pipe fitter for Brown and Root Industrial Services in Deer Park, Texas, where he applied his skills for many years.

Later in his life he became a tech savvy senior and moved seamlessly into the digital age. His intellectual curiosity and enjoyment of learning never waned. He enjoyed repairing things (whether they were broken or not), a hobby that was affectionately referred to as "tinkering," by his wife. He was studious and had a quiet dignity. But, was as humorous as he was eloquent.

Milton is survived by his devoted sister, Wanda Causey of Livingston, and four nieces: Debbie Parrino (Andrew) of Baton Rouge, Donna Radin (Robby) of Deer Park, Texas, Tonya Black (Adam) of Prairieville, and Dana Causey of Livingston and one nephew, Richard Causey of Livingston.

Milton was predeceased by his parents, Lazeme Fontenot and Avis Lorraine Foyil and his cherished wife of 65 years, Disie Doris Willis.

Milton's legacy of love, service, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
