VILLE PLATTE It is with untold sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Raymond Ray Paul Landry, 57, announces his passing on Monday, February 17, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou. Father Mitchell Guidry will act as Celebrant for the services.
A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Rays quiet disposition and easy smile made everyone around him feel individually special. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Torry Fontenot of Tate Cove and his precious daughter, Mallory Dylane Landry of Opelousas he was also a loving stepfather to Gannon Deshotels and Kelsey D. Brown and her husband, Derek, both of Tate Cove. Ray will be deeply mourned by his father, Raymond C. Landry of Morgan City and his siblings and inlaws: his motherinlaw, Mary Nell Fontenot of Mamou, his two sisters, Ellen Romero and her husband, Martin and Wanda Plaisance and her husband, Daryl, both of Morgan City, his two brothersinlaw, Dr John Phil Fontenot and his wife, Hollye of Opelousas and Jean Batiste Fontenot and his wife, Penny of San Antonio, TX., and his two sistersinlaw, Penny McDaniel and her husband, Steve of Tate Cove and Rachel Manuel and her husband, Scott of Mamou. His memory will be carried on by his numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Ray was a highly respected employee of Cameron Industries for thirty eight years, over those many years he built and nurtured a myriad of close relationships with his fellow employees. His vast knowledge and easy disposition made him a favorite, a go to guy, who gladly gave of his own time and expertise no matter what the situation. Rays loss will be felt deeply by many.
Ray will now reunite in Heaven with his beloved son, Kyle David Landry, his mother, Joyce Templet Landry and a brother, Alvin David Landry. They await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts their reunion will surely be a blissful occasion.
At the request of the Landry family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 and will continue until the time of the services Wednesday afternoon. A Rosary will be recited in his honor Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM.
