Priscilla L. Fontenot was born on February 27, 1935 in Bayou Chicot, LA to Aurelis and Anna Belle Landreneau.  Many of you will remember Priscilla for her work with Alcoholics Anonymous and various rehabilitation centers specializing in addiction and depression.

Way beyond verbal lessons, Priscilla has taught others that strength can prevail in the bleakest of times. Over the last few months her ability to overcome both new and recurrent medical challenges have inspired countless people.  Her great sense of humor and spunk have always provided plenty of laughs.  She had a strong Christian faith and a great love for many things; including, animals, football, flowers, visiting with friends and strangers alike and most of all her family.  Priscilla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Priscilla is survived and loved by two daughters, Vicki Brassette and partner Brian Lamoureaux of Hewitt, TX and Priscilla Ann Taylor and husband David of League City, TX; six grandchildren, Dusti Soileau and husband Chris, Justin Paul Fontenot, Hans Mitchell Vidrine, James Paul Vidrine and partner Krysten, Ryan Chase Taylor and wife Erin, Ashli Erin Prejean; two step-grandchildren, Katie Guerra and husband Isreal and Jeanette Lamoureaux; and sister, Perry V. Holleman.  She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hottell Fontenot; their two sons, Paul Hottell and James Timothy; her sister, Jessie M. Fontenot; and her parents, Aurelis and Anna Belle Landreneau.

At the request of the family visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM on Friday.  Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Priscilla’s family would like to thank her various sitters, the ICU Staff and Physicians at Mercy Regional Medical Center for all of the tireless efforts to make our mothers last days comfortable and keeping our family informed of her condition.
