Patricia Ann Picard

February 24, 1951 — July 15, 2025

Patricia Ann Picard, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 74, with her cherished family by her side. Born on February 24, 1951, in Lawtell, Louisiana, Patricia dedicated her life to nurturing those she loved. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Thursday, July 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Ferguson Cemetery with Father Mitch Guidry officiating services.

Patricia was a devoted homemaker, who poured her heart into raising her three daughters. She took great joy in watching them grow, imparting wisdom and kindness that echoed throughout their lives. The bond they shared was a testament to her humility and love. Patricia’s humble spirit was not just reserved for her daughters; it extended to her sisters and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was the embodiment of warmth, inviting others into her presence with open arms and a gracious heart.

Her 53-year marriage to Mr. Joseph Picard was a significant chapter in her life until his passing in 2019. Together, they built a family filled with laughter and love, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. Patricia’s kindness knew no bounds, and she found joy in the simplest pleasures—a reminder that life’s most beautiful moments are often wrapped in moments spent with our nearest and dearest.

Reading was a true passion for Patricia. She delighted in diving into mystery novels, often losing herself in stories that carried her to far-off places. She also found daily solace in her Bible, drawing deep strength and comfort from its pages. For Patricia, cooking Sunday lunches was as much a joy as it was a tradition, and many gathered around her table, where her love was served alongside hearty meals and warm laughter.

Patricia embraced the beauty of nature, finding delight in blooming flowers and the vibrant colors they brought to her life. Her appreciation for their simplicity reflected her own nature—humble yet full of life.

She will be deeply missed by all, especially her three daughters, Karen and husband, Weldon Hebert, Amy and husband, Jeffery Beaubouef, and Wendy and husband, Barry Fontenot; her grandchildren, Derek Fontenot (Blair), Colin Fontenot, Kirsten Dupré Ward (Jacob), Katherine Dupré, Sadie Fontenot West (Luke), Halie Fontenot, and Katelyn Fontenot and her great-grandson, Owen Ward. She will also be remembered by her sisters, Delores Charlie (Danny), Nell Lemaire (James), Peggy LeBlanc, Priscilla LeBlanc, Sharon Doucet, Debby Carriere (Chris) and Paula Clavier (Glen); and her companion of four memorable years, Sam Aucoin.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Picard; her parents, J.C. Doucet and Leticia Thibodeaux; and her brothers, Conley Doucet, Tony Doucet and Joey Doucet.

A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, July 16,2025, beginning at 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Rosary being prayed in her honor at 6:00 pm by Deacon Tim Donovan. Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 8:00 am until the time of service.
