VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Norma Jean Tooty Fontenot, 62, announces the death of their beloved matriarch. Norma left this world to join her Savior in the next, Sunday, November 23, 2014 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital of Opelousas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery with Fr. Brian Harrington as Celebrant.

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Norma leaves behind her precious children: Stacy Fontenot of Ville Platte, Belinda Fontenot and her husband, Keith of Point Blue, Jessie Taylor and her husband, Howard, Amy Castille and her husband, James and Michelle Fontenot, all of Ville Platte. Her legacy will be carried forward by her ten grandchildren: Jordon, Doug, Wesley and Erica Fontenot, Brenda, Heather and Kim Taylor, Caitlyn Ashurst and Sylas and Ava Fontenot they were her absolute greatest joy here on earth. Memories of her will be carried on by her siblings: Allen Gautreaux, Kenneth Gautreaux and Roland Gautreaux, all of Eunice, Nolan Gautreaux of Baton Rouge and Clara Guidry of Lanse Meg. Also left behind, a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends to remember and cherish her sweet spirit and quick wit she will be deeply missed by all whom were lucky enough to have crossed paths with her on her all to short journey here on earth.

She will now reunite in Heaven with her beloved son, Joseph Scott Fontenot, her one true love, her husband, Joseph JY Fontenot and her parents, Raymond and Euna Fontenot Gautreaux. Their reunion will surely be a joyous occasion.

At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 4:30 PM Monday, November 24, 2014 and will continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her name at 6:30 PM Monday evening.
