Michael Brent Ardoin, a dedicated public servant and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Friday, March 28, 1952, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Brent spent his life serving others. Funeral Services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Fr. Stephen Pellessier officiating services.
Brent dedicated his life to a career in law enforcement, which included esteemed positions with the Louisiana State Police for 27 years, U.S. Marshal's office, and the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). His commitment to public safety and justice was shaped by his education, which included an associate's degree in criminal justice, as well as his service in the United States Air Force.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Michael embraced life with passion. He enjoyed flying, raising cattle on his small ranch, hunting, and spending time playing with his dogs. He was known for his big, loving heart which was evident with his fostering of 40 children. Brent was generous in spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need.
Brent was not only a hard worker but also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his wife of 55 years, Alice Ardoin, and together they raised three sons: Donovan Ardoin and his wife, Dana, David Ardoin and his wife, Angie, and Scott Ardoin and their three daughters, Stacie, Alexis, and Skylee Ardoin. Brent adored his family and found immense joy in the laughter and love shared with his nine grandchildren—Katie, Dakota, Montana, Gavin, Matthew, Alyssa, Amelio, Christian, and Adyn—and eight great-grandchildren—Marissa, Aubrey, Kason, Kross, Layton, Ensley, Steven, and Emily. Brent also valued his relationship with his brother, Timothy Webb Ardoin.
Brent’s parents, John Webston and Rena Mae Monier Ardoin, preceded him in death.
The memories of his life will be honored at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte during a visitation on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary, led by Deacon Ben Soileau, being recited at 6:00 PM. On Tuesday, December 2, visitation will continue from 8:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
Brent’s legacy of love, service, and dedication and the indelible impact he made on those around him, will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
