VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary Bonnie Dale Fontenot at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, LA.  Father Andrew Killeen will celebrate the Mass.  Burial will take place at M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.

Mary Bonnie Dale Fontenot, 70, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Bonnie was born on February 9, 1952, in Lafayette, LA to Shirley and Rena Fontenot. She was a compassionate, loving, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she loved and adored her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.  She enjoyed playing bingo, spending time outdoors fishing, and listening to Swamp Pop music.  Bonnie will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Marie Fontenot and husband, Jason of Pine Prairie; sons, Joseph Kelly Fontenot and wife, Tammy of Mamou and Joseph Mark Fontenot and wife, Wendy of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Stephanie Deville and husband, Brock, Kimberly Elliott and husband, Heath, Jacob Fontenot and wife, Allison, Britney Fontenot and husband, Trevor, Tiffany Johnson and husband, Taylor, Brandon Boutte, Kristen Fontenot and companion, Crockett Johnson, Jason Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Katelyn, Daniel Fontenot and companion, Morgan Vandevelde, Angel Bordelon and husband, Shane, Joshua Fontenot and wife, Kellie, Hannah Fruge and husband, Drew, and Aliona Fontenot and husband, Kaygun; great grandchildren, Trevor, Luke, Liam, Andrew, Emma, Olivia, Isabella, Owen, Weston, Valerie, Caroline, Natalie, Saria, Gabriella, Gunner, Kinsiley, Bennett, Rylen, Layla, Oliver, Katherine, one great grandchild on the way, Wes Taylor; and brother, Steve Fontenot.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Louis Fontenot; parents, Shirley and Rena Smith Fontenot; sister, Mary Louella Fontenot Boone; and sister in laws, Pam Fontenot, Jimmy Fontenot, and Roderick Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.  A rosary will be led by Deacon Ben Soileau at 6:30 0 PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
