Marie Hunt

Marie N. D. Hunt, a beloved mother and grandmother, whose life was marked by dedication, kindness, and a generous spirit, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Carencro. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Deacon Ben Soileau officiating services.

Born on Thursday, November 18, 1943, Marie N. D. Hunt lived a life enriched by her love for family. She devoted much of her professional life to the medical field as a medical transcriptionist, where her meticulous attention to detail and integrity earned her the respect of colleagues. Beyond her career, she was known for her loving and generous nature, which touched the lives of those around her profoundly.

Her days were often filled with tending to her flower beds, an activity that brought her great joy and a sense of peace. Cooking and baking were not only hobbies but also ways in which she expressed her love and care for her family, always ready to nourish their bodies as well as their spirits.

Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her to embrace life with the same loving heart and generous soul that she so freely offered. Left behind to cherish Marie’s memory are her two sons, Kevin Landreneau and Donovan Landreneau; three grandchildren, Amelia Arceneaux (Jake), Celeste Landreneau, and Lauren Landreneau (Nick Mueller); great grandchild, Miles Mueller Landreneau; and dear friend, Vicki Ganucheau.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Avie and Octavia Soileau Berzas and sister, Velma Miller.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, April 27, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM until time of rosary and service at 1:00 PM.
