VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, for Marie Elmina Deshotels, 84, who passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021.
Father Mitch Guidry will conduct funeral service and be celebrant of the Mass.
Entombment will take place at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
She is survived her two sons, Karl Deshotels and wife Rhonda of Grand Prairie and Peter Deshotels of Tate Cove; daughter, Phyllis Deshotels Stagg and husband, Ricky of Whiteville; grandchildren, Robbin Stagg Soileau (Bryan), Holly Stagg Fontenot (Ched), Ashley Stagg Patin (Nicolas), Kristin Stagg Fontenot (Kyle), Kelsey Deshotels Brown (Derek), Gannon Deshotels (Kelli), Blake Delahoussaye (Mckenzie), Shelby Delahoussaye (Ashton), and Johnathon Deshotels; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Deshotels; her parents, Lester and Marie McDaniel; great grandson, Michael Carson Patin; and siblings, Isabelle Fontenot, Luna Fontenot, Hilda Stagg, Ola Matte, Amy Guillory, Thadius McDaniel, Aaron McDaniel, Andrew McDaniel, and Burke McDaniel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. A rosary will be prayed by on Monday evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
Pallbearers are Gannon Deshotels, Johnathon Deshotels, Garrick Fontenot, Derek Brown, Ched Fontenot, and Kyle Fontenot.
Honorary Pallbearers are Nicolas Patin, Bryan Soileau, and Blake Delahoussaye.
