ANGOLA It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Elizabeth Corkran announces her passing on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Angola, La. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel of Ville Platte, her pastor, Brother Danny LeBlanc will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery, Pastor Woody Gunnel will preside.
Margaret was a kind and loving soul whose passion was helping children in need she supported St. Judes, Boys Town and Feed the Children charities. She had room in her heart for all children but her greatest joy was her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the absolute light of her life.
Margaret was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her beloved family. She leaves behind her four beloved children: Rick Corkran and his wife, Eid, of Pine Prairie, Robert Corkran and his wife, Christina, also of Pine Prairie, Cindy Ducote and her husband, Randy, of Angola and Debbie Guillory and her husband, Jimmy, of Vidrine. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and further blessed with nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Smith Stracener of Texas.
She will now join in Heaven, her husband, Max Corkran, her parents, Ora and Telitha Smith and one brother Dock Smith. They most certainly await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Corkran family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel of Ville Platte beginning at 8:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 and will continue until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
