Maffie Ann Guillory Landreneau, a lady who lived life to its fullest, peacefully departed this world on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her home in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was born on Thursday, December 25, 1947, in L-Anse Grise and dedicated her life to her family, her profession, and her passions.
Her educational pursuits were notable; Maffie earned a degree in bookkeeping from Spencer Business College and later completed nursing school, exemplifying her commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.
Maffie’s career was defined by her dedication and hard work. She began her professional journey as a bookkeeper, at local banks and the family business, where her meticulous nature shone through. However, her most profound impact came during her 25 years as a registered nurse, a role she embraced with compassion and commitment. Above all, Maffie treasured her role as a homemaker, nurturing her family and creating a loving environment.
Maffie’s spirit was as vibrant as her interests. She found joy in fishing and camping, often cooking at the camp, where many cherished memories were made with family and friends. Her love for music, particularly French music, was an integral part of her gatherings with loved ones.
Maffie is survived by her beloved high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Glen Landreneau. They built a life rich with love and shared experiences. Maffie took great pride in her two grandchildren, Seth Landreneau and Trevor Landreneau, whose lives she touched profoundly. She is also survived by her dear sister, Jenene Fields.
While we celebrate Maffie’s life, we remember her parents, Lennis Guillory and Audrey Foret Guillory and brother, Clyde Guillory along with her beloved sons, Lynn Landreneau and Nick Landreneau, and her sweet baby girl, who preceded her in death.
Maffie Ann Guillory Landreneau will be remembered fondly for her strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
The Landreneau family requests a visitation be held at the Vidrine Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2025 beginning at 9:00 am. A rosary will be recited in her honor on Friday at 9:45 am and will be immediately followed by a Catholic Funeral Service. Interment will take place in the New St. Ann’s Crypt Mausoleum.
