Louvella Manuel

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held for Louvella Manuel on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.  Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Pine Prairie with Deacon Tim Donovon officiating services.

Louvella Manuel was born in Chataiginer, Louisiana on July 2, 1939 to Oliver and Dudley Darbonne Fruge.  Louvella spent her life caring for her family and ensuring they had everything they needed.  She loved to play Bingo and loved fresh flowers.  Louvella passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the age of 84.  She will be lovingly remembered by her family and dearest friends. 

Louvella is survived by three children, Marshall Manuel and wife, Laurie, Cynthia Fontenot and husband, Brent, and Wanda Darbonne and husband, Kent; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Fontenot,  Troy Fontenot, Brandon Darbonne, Seth Darbonne, Brittany Roberts, Kayla Manuel, and Amy Manuel; 8 great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Burtman Fruge; and 3 sisters, Bertha Turner, Mary Louis Lavergne, and Janette Fontenot.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roderick Manuel; parents, Oliver and Dudley Darbonne Fruge; son, Robert Manuel; three grandchildren, Justin Darbonne, Roderick Manuel, and Lacey Fontenot; one great grandchild, Hadley Fontenot; three brothers; and two sisters.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Saturday, August 5, 2023 beginning at 8:30 AM until time of rosary and services.  A rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM.
