Funeral services for Mr. Louis Blanc Fontenot, 74, will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 1 p.m. in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Fr. Romero will officiate the services.
Mr. Fontenot, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at 9 a.m. in Ville Platte Medical Center.
A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, a special friend, he is survived by a special friend, Linda Fontenot of Ville Platte; one son, James Danny Fontenot and wife, April of Denham Springs; four step sons, Glenn Breaux of Houma, Dale Naquin of Houma, James Fontenot of Ville Platte, and Joseph Fontenot Opelousas; one daughter, Cynthia Cindy Rollins and husband, Gregory of Bayou Chicot; two step daughters, Rebecca Fontenot of Ville Platte and Tina Burnett of Rosepine; two brothers, Frank Chapman and wife, Mavis of Pineville and Donald Chapman and wife, Jeanette of Bayou Chicot; five grandchildren, Tasha Rollins of Thibodeaux, Heather Bordelon of Bayou Chicot, David James Fontenot, Adam Lee Fontenot, and Sydney Marie Fontenot all- of Denham Springs; three great grandchildren, Cameron Himel, Alexis Bordelon, and Bradon Britton; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Babin; parents, Alee and Anna Tate Fontenot; two daughters, Gail Ann Fontenot and Carol Ann Fontenot; and one brother Burk Lynn Fontenot.
Family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
