VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Lizzie M. Manuel, 97, announces her passing on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at The Guest House in Baton Rouge. Her beloved son, Alvin was at her side when she left this world to join her Savior in the next. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM Monday, June 17, 2013 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Garrett McIntyre as Celebrant.
Lizzie was a kind and loving woman she spent her younger years working tirelessly on the family farm but her true devotion was to the care of her beloved family. She leaves behind one son, Alvin J. Manuel, Jr. and his wife, Sherry Soileau Manuel of Baton Rouge, one daughter, Florella Manuel Bentley of Bedford, Texas and a daughterinlaw, Debbie Miller Manuel of Carencro. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Ricky Bentley, Tracy Bentley, Robbie Bentley, Joshua Manuel, Blake Manuel, Theresa Bentley, Marie BentleyHergenrader and Sarah Manuel and was further blessed with eight great grandchildren. Her memory will most certainly be cherished by her two nephews and two nieces.
She will reunite in Heaven with her husband, Alvin J. Manuel, Sr., two of her sons, Timothy D. Manuel and Lennard Manuel, two brothers, Burkeman L. Manuel and Russell Manuel, one sister, Lydie Manuel Miller and a nephew, Jeff Miller. They undoubtedly await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Manuel family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 and will continue until 9:00 PM that evening and resume at 8:00 AM Monday morning and carry on until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in her honor at 7:00 PM Sunday evening.
