VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lionel West, 85, announces his passing on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte, Rite of Committal to follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Father Mitchell Guidry will act as Celebrant for the services.
Lionel was never blessed with children of his own but his adoring cousins and dear friends were absolutely devoted to him. Their love and concern were immense he was always grateful and in high spirits when they included him in their families special occasions and always looked forward to their visits. He was a kind man with a gentle soul he will be missed by many.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Murphy and Leola Ortego West and his brother and sister in law, Robert and Barbara West. Their reunion will be a joyous one, their family complete once again.
At the request of the West family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM Monday, February 17, 2014 and will continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in his honor at 2:15 PM Monday afternoon.
