Linda Onelia Arceneaux

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Onelia Arceneaux, a native of Ville Platte, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at the age of 79. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Deacon Ben Soileau officiating services.

Linda Onelia Arceneaux was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on Sunday, October 27, 1946 to the late Howard Andrus and Louise Smith. Linda was a bakery manager by trade, but her most treasured role was that of being a caring and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. Although Linda lived her last days in Mooresville, North Carolina, she was always proud of her cajun roots. She will be greatly missed and her memory will live forever in the hearts of those she loved.

Linda is survived by her two children, Doug Arceneaux and wife, Melissa and Wendy Salmond and husband, Donald; five beloved grandchildren, Ariel, Abigail, Andrew, Jeffrey, and Caroline; and one great grandchild, Alina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Louise Smith Andrus and her husband of 36 years, Lawrence “Larry” Arceneaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 2, 2026 beginning at 8:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
