Laura Mae Guillory

Laura Mae Vidrine Guillory, a beloved matriarch and passionate gardener, was born on Wednesday, February 6, 1935, in Vidrine, Louisiana. She peacefully left this world on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 90 surrounded by the love of her family. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Mitch Guidry, will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. She will then be laid to rest at B.J. Fontenot Cemetery.

Laura Mae Guillory was a vibrant spirit who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for gardening, nurturing her beautiful flowers, and tending to her yard. Laura’s kitchen was the heart of her home, where she enjoyed cooking for her family; her rice and pot roast gravy was a cherished family favorite. Laura also found happiness in dancing to French music and shopping, activities that filled her days with laughter and joy.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Randy Guillory (Sandra); daughter, Darlene Bordelon (Terrell); 5 grandchildren, Michael Guillory (Chasity), Crystal Guillory, Sheila Alexander (Scotty), Cormen Cook (Doug), and Eric Bordelon (Whitney); 13 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. They will remember her with great love and affection.

Laura is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Odell Guillory; her parents, Alibe and Adelia Chapman Vidrine; brothers, Edward, Frank, Veil, Kirby, and Delta Vidrine; as well as sisters, Eve Guillory, Lelma Courville, and Willie Mae Lafleur.

In honor of Laura's life, a visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM until the Rosary begins at 12:30 PM.

As we gather to celebrate Laura's life, we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering her joyful spirit, her unwavering love for family, and her passion for life.
