Kenneth Raymond Walker, 77, of Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, service, and hard work.
Born on December 15, 1948, in Ville Platte, Kenneth was a proud graduate of Ville Platte High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, including service during the Vietnam War and in Korea. His military service remained a source of great pride throughout his life.
Following his time in the Air Force, Kenneth built a successful career with Cabot Corporation, where he worked diligently for 40 years before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to providing for his family.
Kenneth was a Master Mason and a devoted member of Bayou Chicot Lodge No. 430 F&AM. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Ville Platte, his faith guided him throughout his life.
Kenneth found great joy in the outdoors. He loved camping at Lakeview Park, Crooked Creek, and Chicot State Park. Family and friends will fondly remember gathering around his outdoor kitchen, where he prepared meals that became family favorites. Whether it was his duck and squirrel gumbo, sausage and gravy, or any dish his spoon touched, it was always made with love and enjoyed by all.
Above all else, Kenneth treasured his family. His greatest joy was spending time with those he loved and attending the annual Walker Family Reunion. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and steadfast protector. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Glenda Gaspard Walker; his daughters, Wendy Dupre and husband Steven, Kayla Latiolais and husband Jory, and Brandy Walker and companion Shannon Perry; and his son, Donavon Walker and wife Nicole.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Abby Launey, Amber Goodrum, Graham Walker, Camden Walker, Bayleigh Walker, Layna Gauthier, Lauren May, Alec Clause, Alexia Thibodeaux, and Alyce Soileau; eight step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and twelve step-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth is also survived by his brothers, Robert Owen "Bob" Walker and wife Georgia, and Anthony "Tony" Walker and wife Jennifer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.R. "Dub" Walker Jr. and Wilda Marie Fontenot Walker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Ville Platte, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
A Celebration of Life honoring Kenneth's well-lived life will begin at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Kevin West officiating.
Interment will follow at Vandenburg Cemetery with full United States Air Force military honors.
Though he will be deeply missed, Kenneth's legacy of love, faith, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who knew him.
