A devoted woman of faith, Joycie found great comfort and joy in reading her Bible and singing Christian songs. She also loved engaging in lively rounds of bingo, relishing the fun and camaraderie it brought with her nursing home family. Joycie took pride in being pampered, enjoying having her hair, nails, and makeup fixed, which reflected her graceful and caring personality.

Joycie was a beloved sister to Joseph Kordish and his wife, Pauline of Buna, Texas, Daniel Kordish of Ville Platte, Margie Guillory of Bridge City, Texas, Janice Jones and her husband, Walter of St. Landry, and Juanita Kordish of Bayou Chicot as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joycie’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren—Hannah Patterson, Cherie (Jared) Jarreau, Nicholas Porche, Kayla Patterson, Trey Patterson, Kelly Patterson, Blair (Emily) Bueche, Rene' (Caroline) Thibodeaux, and Jolie (Cole) Jackson—and eight great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years.
Preceded in death were her parents, Anthony and Mary Kordish, and brother-in-law Rodney Guillory.
Family, friends, and all who knew Joycie are invited to honor her memory at the visitation on April 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both held at Ardoin's Funeral Home, located at 709 W Main St, Ville Platte, LA 70586. Burial will immediately follow at Ferguson Cemetery with Wayne Holston officiating. Pallbearers will be Blair Bueche, Rene' Thibodeaux, Cole Jackson, Trey Patterson, Jonathan Vidrine, Paul Vidrine, and Paul Didier.
