Joseph "Lee" Tate, Jr.

Lee Tate, Jr, age 91, of Ville Platte, Louisiana went to be with the Lord in Heaven on February 8, 2026.

He was born on October 13,1934 in Ville Platte and lived the majority of his life in Tate Cove. Lee loved to go for coffee every morning and kept up with the town news! He did his daily walks 2-5 miles for over 50 years. He served in the US Army. Lee loved his country and was a proud supporter of the Military.

Lee is survived by his four children: Dr. Patrick Tate (Kerrie Tate), Kenneth Tate, David A. Tate (Lori Quinn-Tate) and Louise Prejean. His three grandchildren: Sarah Ronquillio, David K. Tate (Noelle Tate) and Dr. Tyler Tate. Also, he loved his two great grandchildren: Isaac and Zoey Ronquillio. His world would “Lite- up” when he was around his grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Lee had a very special bond with his two favorite daughter- in-laws: Kerrie Tate and Lori-Quinn -Tate.

He was a kind, gentle soul who will be missed by all who were BLESSED to know him. A small family service will be held at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
