Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Roland Manuel, 69, announces his passing Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family when he left this world to meet his Savior in the next. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Thursday, December 20, 2012 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery with Fr. Joshua Guillory officiating the services.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Roland leaves behind his loving wife of fifty years, Joyce B. Manuel of Ville Platte. He will be mourned by his five children: Scott Manuel and his wife, Anita of Ville Platte, Keith Manuel and his wife, Christine of Ville Platte, Patty M. Soileau and her husband, Keven of Grand Prairie, Polly Manuel of Ville Platte and June M. Soileau and her husband, Shawn of Grand Prairie. He also leaves behind his brother, Charlie Manuel and his wife, Loretta of Ville Platte. His memory will most certainly be cherished by his thirteen grandchildren they were truly the light of his life.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Cleveland and Evenes Manuel, his brother Cleve Ray Manuel and his grandchild, Sidney Gail Manuel they await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Manuel family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 until 10:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Thursday morning and continue until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited in his honor Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
