Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Roland Fontenot, Sr., 69 announces his passing on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Fr. Mario Romero Celebrant.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary J. Fontenot of Ville Platte; one son, Joseph R. Fontenot, Jr. and fiance, Jessica Ann Manuel of Vidrine; one daughter, Victoria Fontenot Sylvester and husband, Scotty of Ville Platte; two brothers, Joseph Rodney Fontenot and Jesse Wayne Fontenot both of Ville Platte; two sisters, Helen Jane Savant of Eunice and Anna Lavergne of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elba and Elise Fontenot; a son, Joseph Michael Fontenot; a daughter, Shanta Marie Fontenot; and a brother, Tony Fontenot.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Monday, December 7, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
