VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Saturday, February 8, 2020, for John Ronald Fontenot, 72, who passed away peacefully on February 6, 2020 in Eunice, LA.
Father Blake Dubroc will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.
A native of the Vidrine community and resident of Ville Platte, Mr. Fontenot passed away February 6, 2020. He was a Yard Foreman and later served as a bookkeeper at the Ville Platte Street Department and retired after 30 years of service for the City of Ville Platte. He always enjoyed politics and served as a commissioner in many elections. One of his favorite programs to listen to was La Tasse De Café on KVPI, and he was a proud New Orleans Saints fan.
He is survived by one nephew Blake Ardoin and host of cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edles and Marie O’Connor Fontenot; two sisters, Cavel Fontenot and Marjorie F. Ardoin; and his brother in law, Delouis “Joe” Ardoin.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Father Blake Dubroc on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
