John Carroll Daire

John Carroll Daire, a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 73. John was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet nature and familiar presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John was a graduate of Evangeline Academy and proudly earned his degree from Louisiana State University. He dedicated 30 years of service to the State of Louisiana, working as an eligibility worker with the Food Stamp Office.

John found happiness in the everyday moments of life. He especially enjoyed getting in his truck and taking a drive, one of his favorite pastimes. He also took pride in caring for his yard and could often be found cutting grass and enjoying time outdoors. His beloved cat, Menew was also a special part of his life.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Pam Maggio and her husband, Joe; nieces and nephews, Wendy Leger and Landon, Brian Maggio, and Matthew Maggio; great-nephew, Colin Leger; and his beloved cat, Menew

He now joins his parents in Heaven, Raphael and Prudence Ortego Daire.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. by Deacon Tim Donovan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Very Rev. Darren Eldridge, V.F., officiating.

Following Mass John will be laid to rest in Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.

May John rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before him and the memories of those who will forever hold him in their hearts.
