Jimmy Verlin Rollins Sr., 71, of Bayou Chicot passed away on December 13, 2025. He was born in Ville Platte on April 8, 1954, to the late Dudley and Doris Carlin Rollins. An outdoorsman at heart, Jimmy loved hunting and fishing, spending countless hours in nature. He found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was casting a line on a quiet lake or exploring the trails in the woods. He made his mark as a skilled carpenter. His craftsmanship was not just a means of work; it was his passion, a tangible reflection of his commitment to quality and detail.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rosemary B. Rollins; sons, Jimmy V. Rollins, Jr. and Jeremiah L. Rollins; grandchildren, Blake Rollins, Jase Rollins, and Jemmah Rollins; sisters, Melanie Smith and Katherine Phillips. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jimmy's remarkable life during a Visitation which will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM on December 17, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on December 18, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Ferguson Cemetery. In this time of remembrance, let us share stories and laughter as we honor the legacy of a man who touched many lives with generosity and warmth. Jimmy Rollins will be missed deeply, but his spirit and love for family and nature will forever remain in our hearts.
