James "Jim" Limoges

VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for James “Jim” Limoges at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Father Tom Voorhies will conduct the Mass. Burial will be conducted with full military honors at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

James “Jim” Limoges, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Though he was a Ville Platte resident, Jim was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Joseph Armand Limoges and Doris Richard Limoges. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He is remembered as a headstrong but kindhearted man who was devoted to his family. He enjoyed gardening and adored his two Schnauzers, Felix and T.K. Jim worked offshore as a roughneck for CRC Mallard and was also a guard at Angola State Penitentiary, but he was mostly known as the owner and operator of Jim's Car Clean.

Left behind to cherish Jim’s memory are: his daughter, Johnette Limoges, of Greeley, CO; sons, Joseph A. Limoges and wife, Toni, of Ville Platte, Edward Scott Limoges of Ville Platte, and Phillip Todd Limoges of Ville Platte; grandchildren: Kimberlyn Limoges Johnson and husband, Logan, Korey Limoges, Joshua Becker, Malerie Limoges Roy and husband, Jude, Marcie Limoges Castille and husband, John K., Amy Chapman, and Jessica Walling; and great-grandchildren, Lenni Chapman, Lola Chapman, Theodore Chapman, Jett Johnson, Britton Johnson, Paityn Limoges, and Grayson Limoges.

Jim joins in Heaven his parents, his wife, Geneva Soileau Limoges, and great-grandson, Joseph Foster Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Ben Soileau at 6:00 PM on Friday. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 8:00 AM until dismissal at 9:30 AM.
