Jacob Hudspeth

VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 AM for Jacob John Hudspeth. Laid to rest at Belaire Cove Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies officiating services.  

Jacob John Hudspeth, beloved son, grandson, uncle, and nephew, passed away at the age of 44, on Saturday August 26^th, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

Jacob was a gentle soul.  His smile always brightened your day, and he greeted you with a heart-warming hug. He had a positive attitude about life. Jacob had an immense love for his family. He had a special place in his heart for his nephew, Colin. Jacob and Colin shared their love of sports, especially LSU football. They spent time discussing the players, the drafts and went to a few LSU games.  Jacob also loved his Fantasy Football in which he competed with his friends. He had a special relationship with his grandmother, Shirley Vidrine. When Jacob was home after two weeks working offshore, he made sure to check on Grandma and spend time with her. Jacob had a big heart, worked hard all his life, and was always there when someone needed him. While we mourn the loss of Jacob, let us remember the wonderful, sweet person he was and keep him in our prayers.

Jacob will be missed by his father, Roy Hudspeth, his stepmom, Christine, his brother Lucas Hudspeth and wife Rachael, Brandi Hudspeth, and her son Colin.  As well as his grandmother, Shirley Vidrine. All his uncles and aunts on both the Hudspeth and Vidrine side will miss him dearly.

Jacob was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Vidrine Hudspeth; his brother, Brady Hudspeth; Grandfather, Earlis Vidrine; Grandparents, Robert, and Lena Hudspeth Williams; Uncle, Phillip Vidrine; and Cousin Samuel Hudspeth.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, August 31, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM, until 10:00 AM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
